MONEY SAVING TIPS FOR HORSE OWNERS.

Whether you want to save on outgoings or want more spare money to spend on your best friend these 5 tips will help you save during 2021!

1.Bulk buy bedding.

If possible buying your bedding in bulk can work out much cheaper than buying occasional bags every week or so. If you struggle for storage space why not speak to others on the yard and place a joint order then split the costs. I recently saved over £20 buying my straw pellets by the palette, it also saves time and effort taking trips to your local tack shop/feed merchant and avoids those unnecessary spontaneous purchases we all make when we step foot near any horse shops, saving even more money!

2.Switch and save on your horse insurance.

I find horse insurance such a minefield, so many companies , quotes, add ons and cost differences to choose from its hard to know what the right insurance for you and your horse is. Make sure you take the time to shop around and ensure the policy covers what you want it to for the price you can afford. Personally I find paying monthly much easier than than paying for any unexpected vets bills!

Harry Hall offer excellent value horse, rider, tack and trailer insurance, have a simple set up, transparent perk filled policies, no hidden extra costs and are always willing to help find what is best for you. Im currently looking into changing my horse insurance over to Harry Hall, I don't know why iv'e not looked into it sooner. Looking to sign up? Click here

3. Speak to a nutritionist.

Whether you choose a private nutritionist or one linked to your favorite feed brand get in touch with them. With so many different feeds and supplements available its hard to find the correct information to make sure your feeding what's right for your horse. Are we feeding feeds that do the same thing? Do we need to be paying all the extra money on supplements a month or will feeding the correct amount of the right feed include everything your horse needs? Maybe you do still need a supplement but do you need a well known brand or are you just paying extra for the fancy packaging and name? Its all worth researching and gaining insight from a nutritionist will help find the right plan for you and probably save you money in the long run too!

4. Join the Harry Hall one club and save on all your Harry Hall purchases!

With various membership options from as little as £10 a year you are sure to benefit from signing up. From free delivery, free returns, horse insurance ,and exclusive discounts across brands such as Masta, Kingsland, Musto, Sprenger, Harry Hall , Lister and many more! Iv'e just signed up for my second year and I have honestly saved so much on my purchases and love the early access to sales too! Join the one club here

5. Do it yourself.

Are you paying for more than what you really need? A helping hand goes a long way and sometimes that extra help is worth more than saving a few pounds, maybe its physically impossible to do it all yourself but if your trying to save some money have a more in depth look into your livery packages. Are you on full livery but could maybe swap to part livery and do the stable chores on a weekend? Maybe you could choose assisted livery instead and only pay for the days/jobs you really need doing. If you pay for the add on's or per hour why not make feeds , haynets etc up in advance? Leave turnout rugs on in the stable to save on the rug change time. Could a change in bedding make mucking out quicker? All the little jobs add up if done everyday so even the smallest changes can make your livery much cheaper!

What are your tips for saving this year?
