SHOOTING SEASON STYLE SERIES

Look the part this season with the shooting season style series.

Each blog contains a super stylish selection of some must have items, perfect for a day out on the field. You’ll be spoilt for choice! Choose between stunning tweeds, durable waterproofs and timeless accessories from some of my favourite brands! Not just for the lady gun, the shooting season style series will have something for both male and female, and styles to look good with the gun and on the beaters line.

The first item is the Sheerwood Forest Hardwick Jacket offering a lightweight and breathable hunting jacket. Tweed is not for everyone and the Hardwick offers the perfect practical alternative. The large collar offers protection from wind and rain, while the suede looks super comforting! I am obsessed with how large the pockets look too! Pockets can never be too big and the button closure offers security, the additional cartridge holders add another practical aspect to this all round jacket. I love the suede shoulder details, the brown looks great with the dark green. I feel this jacket would be ideal for anyone on the field, to either add as final layer in winter or to wear over a simple gilet and shirt during the crisp autumn mornings.

The main feature of this months shooting season style series is the brand new collection from Alan Paine, offering sensible but super stylish items to add to your collection.

The Combrook collection is perfect for the style conscious lady gun!

With 5 colour options to choose from and the ever so flattering fit, this tweed offers a unique style bringing fashion to the field! The Combrook tweed field jacket 's longer style with waterproof and breathable pure wool outer offers protection from the winter elements while the soft mock suede inner collar allows for comfort when turning your head to get that perfect shot! The jacket proposes secure internal pockets, single back vent, and an adjustable back vent while the Combrook breeks feature a cotton lining, with side and back pockets and a adjustable Velcro hem .I love the button detail and pocket piping! Available in sizes 8-20.

If a longer jacket is not your style then the super sleek Surrey jacket is ideal! Available in 3 colours, the blazer style combines an off the field look with a pure wool and water repellent outer, great for looking stunning in the autumn sun! The high Alcantara collar, turn back cuffs, pocket trims and removable belt offer a feminine feel to tweed on the field. This would look gorgeous teamed with some tighter fitting trousers, tucked into a tall boot.

The leather waterproof country boot offers fashionable footwear for on the field with a waterproof and breathable lining, durable inject molded bi-compound rubber outer sole , a 3-layer insole including a thermal foil lining to protect from the cold and a cushion padding offering comfort and practicality. I love the buckle and tweed panel detail adding a unique feel to a growing market of country boots.

The Felwell quilted waistcoat offers an alternative waistcoat to tweed or fleece, ensuring you stand out the season! The beautiful mock suede binding contrasts with the bold colours of navy, black and dark olive brilliantly. The waistcoat also offers a water repellent soft handle outer, DuPont ComforMax multi-layer fibrefill for warmth and zipped pockets again ensuring superb practicality for on the field.

My next item, are the Harkila Freja ladies trouser offering an alternative to tweed breeks yet still look stylish. The silent fabric, waterproof and breathable Härkila Weather System™ membrane , in-pocket cartridge holder, easy-access top pockets and knee adjustments are some of the many super features of these fantastic trousers! Finding a trousers for females thats smart and durable can be challenging but this pair look great and do the job! I can’t stress how much I love these trousers! I would absolutely love a pair for the beating line!

I couldn’t write a blog without a little something silver so my favourite pretty piece is the HiHo Silver foxtail charm bead bracelet. I just think its gorgeous and I love how you can personalise it to make it your own. Despite looking elegant and far too stunning to wear out on the field, Hiho is reknown for being amazingly durbable! My silver snaffle bangle is worn for literally everything from mucking out horses to running pheasants and there not a single mark on it!

Finally I have my much loved and well used Dedito wellies which you can read all about in my previous blog by clicking here or if a boot is more your style then the Dodi boot also by Dedito is another favourite of mine! The boot is sturdy, waterproof and durable offering protection from all the terrain and weather you can think of. My gamekeeper boyfriend has the longer version, shooting 6 days a week he needed something comfy and high quality without the huge price tag! Safe to say he didn’t have them off last season and they still look as good as new! They are available in sizes 4 and over!

I hope you enjoyed the first part of my shooting season style series, next time there will be combined men and womens series and lots more gorgeous but practical items keeping you looking and feeling great out in the field!

Speak soon,

Meg xx
