IN THE FIELD FASHION

Despite the end of season creeping up on us, there's still time to buy that gorgeous shirt you've had your eye on or to splurge on a new coat! It's also worth taking advantage of the winter sales and getting kitted out for next year! Or if you work in the field then even though the seasons over , it's almost time for all the hard work and rearing to start again! This blog shares a few of my favourite 'in the field fashion' items which I hope you find some inspiration from and maybe even treat yourself.

I love a good durable jacket, especially for this time of year! I've tried to include 3 different styles featuring the Deerhunter Avanti Deer-Tex Performance Shell Jacket (£74.95) first on the left. This jacket is waterproof, windproof, breathable and the lighter-weight of the three featured. I keep meaning to order this one myself, its on offer at the moment making it perfect for me and my little budget and will come in handy when I go out to work with Tom and some gun dog photography I have coming up!

The second is the Musto Whisper Ladies Shooting Jacket FW (£384.95). A more flattering shooting jacket than the previous one with all the practical elements you would want still there too! This jacket is waterproof, windproof, lined with primaloft insulation to keep you toasty while still being lightweight and breathable. Ideal for the changing weather and the flexiablity you need to get the perfect shot! The soft brushed fabric allows for a noiseless finish too. If i had the money this would be a firm favourite of mine, its durable enough for the field and a days work but stylish enough to look smart to nip to the pub on a dog walk!

The third is the Schoffel ptarvigan ladies tweed coat (£599.95). The coat my dreams are made of! Isn't it stunning? I don't think you can truly appreciate this tweed until you see it in person. The jacket has a lot of handy features including a moisture and stain repellent Teflon finish, GORE-TEX lining, 100% waterproof, windproof, storm cuffs, micro fleece hand warming pockets and much more. I feel like this shooting coat speaks for itself and would be 100% worth the splurge!

I love a nice waistcoat/gilet it brings a nice finish to a outfit and adds extra layers and pockets! The first featured is the Rutland ladies wax and tweed shooting waistcoat by Alan Paine(149.95). I love the wax contrast with the tweed, it adds a flattering feminine feel which is sometimes lost in country clothing. It also looks smart and durable enough to wear alone, without a jacket when the weather allows.

The Schoffel lyndon fleece gilet (139.95) had to be included. An all time favourite of mine an many others. The fitted style makes it perfect to add as a layer yet the smart design also looks stunning alone. This versatile fleece makes it perfect for clays, pub lunching , work and a day in the field shooting. A must have country item and lots of colours to choose from.

The third waistcoat is a little more smart and fitted. It's the Dubarry Daisy tweed waistcoat (£239.00). I love the elegant design, teamed with a crisp white shirt would make for a classier look on the field. The leather detailing adds to the look and ensures you're looking your best.

Iv'e included the Barbour triplebar shirt (47.96) in lots of previous outfit inspiration posts. I love the simple but stunning design and the colour range available. Despite not being a pinky girl the Aster pink check is my favourite. The subtle pinks look gorgeous teamed with a plum fleece gilet.

You can't go wrong with classic white especially with ruffle detailing to add a little more class. This is the Dubarry Chamomile ladies country shirt (£69.00). Maybe not the shirt for a days work but ideal for the smarter shoot days where you need to look your best.

The final shirt iv'e included is the Musto ladies soft country pattern flying partridge shirt (£90.00). This silky , anti-microbial shirt is perfect for any country lover. The flying partridge design adds a twist to the common pheasant shirts and looks gorgeous. Add a tweed gilet for a classic country style.

The first pair of Breeks is the Alan Paine Cambridge ladies waterproof breeks (99.95). There available in oak or olive, are fully waterproof, breathable and look super smart! The practical features make them ideal for a full day of comfy shooting!

In the middle are the Weatherby tweed breeks (£99.00, on sale from £179.00). There simple but stunning design adds to their elegant and feminine look. I adore the buckles at the bottoms, very smart!

S.Entwistle front fastening moleskin breeksThe final breeks being the (£95.00). Made from traditional heavyweight moleskin cloth, available in a range of colours and with adjustable calf fastening they are just beautiful!

You can never have too many! I love socks and choosing just three was hard. I narrowed it down to the Schöffel Diamond Sock in Purple (£49.95). I love the chunky shooting style , the bold colour and beautiful diamond design. Next is the Hicks & Brown ladies over the knee socks in grey (£39.95). I love a bit of grey and the scalloped edge design with the blue top adds a beautiful for my delicate to style to the usual boot sock. Finally is the House of Cheviot lady lochnagar (£45.00). The classic green merino wool sock is made to very high standards, the design in elegant but classic adding a touch of colour without being too bold and bright.

'No foot, no horse' I feel like the same goes for everyone in the field or any outdoor worker. A comfy , practical boot is essential. Anyone who's had to spent hours in a leaking, poor quality shoe will know where I am coming from. The first boot being from a brand iv'e recently fell in love with. Its the Brandecosse Reno ladies country boot (£395.00). The boot is waterproof, breathable, lined with pure British shearling wool, has a Vibram sole, made with full grain hydrophobic leather and has the option to turn the curved top down, exposing the gorgeous wool lining. This allows for a boot that's practical for the day in the field but stylish enough to use in everyday wear too.
The second boot is the Dedito moorland boot (£185.00). My boyfriend has this boot and adores his pair. He couldn't recommend them enough and as a gamekeeper has tested them in all terrains, with hours of wear (keep an eye for his in depth review very soon). The boot is made to last and made with you in mind! They have covered everything from bramble and stone protection, easy clean materials, non slip soles and even a rubber anti-shock piece to dampen contact. I really don't think you could go wrong, especially for the very forgiving price!

In the field fashion has been a blog post I have been meaning to post for a while now and have just not got round to adding the finishing touches! I hope you enjoyed having a browse through a selection of my favourite products for a hard days work in the field. Although primary aimed at ladies I hope any men reading this had a browse through the mens selection of products on the websites.

Meg xx
