Ariel adventures. Our first two week together.

Ariel has now been in soggy Scotland for almost two week and is settling in well. She's still finding the yard and stable a little scary on her own so we've been bringing a friend in for her to cause as little stress as possible!

She's beginning to trust me now and a nice calm, slow approach seems to be the way forward. We've gone from eyes on stalks, dancing around in the stable to half asleep while I groom and tack up so we are heading in the right direction. It's easy to forget that not only is the yard brand new to her but so am I too!

We've not been in the arena yet instead we've been making lots of friends exploring the gorgeous Scottish countryside! I'm so proud of how well she is out! We've seen tractors, lorries, roadworks, cows, pheasants, hacked through sheep herds, through rivers, trotted in groups in open fields and she's been a super star! She sets off excited and snorts at everything coming out of the yard but soon as she's out she settles right down.

I'm hoping to get Tom to come take some photos of us soon and I need to get some schooling done but honestly we are having more fun being happy hackers! The hills and terrain is keeping her mind busy and building her fitness so we may as well enjoy the views in company than trot about in circles right?
